This morning I pledged Allegience to the flag in my front yard then turned on Fox News.

Chris Christie -- Caricature by DonkeyHotey

New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie, is undoubtedly the absolute best Republican for President. I like this guy. He appears to be an intelligent guy with a sense of humor. His I-phone has probably been clotted with pleas for him to reconsider his run for the Presidency. Although the tweets and calls have probably diminished over the last few days -- he made a most unfortunate choice of an American to memorialize and honor -- he unpatriotically defended the decision to honor the life of Witney Houston with the American flag at half-mast. The horror! How demeaning to a proud country such as ours -- Witney was a drug addicted black woman!

This is disgusting on so many levels, not only was she a woman -- her memory is perversly tainting the memories of our fallen service members. What the hell would Jesus think about this?

Well, at least I can be comforted that this issue is being debated in church vestibules and fellowship halls across the country.

This Morning I spoke to a Vietnamese Parisian friend about this important issue. She is in total agreement with those real Americans that have spoken out, enraged, about what Christie has done. She recently moved to Mississippi because she could no longer countenance, "A Europe with no respect for flags." She also told me that she had been appalled as a child when she had seen the American flag at half-mast after President Kennedy's assasination. She went on to gloat over her childhood precience -- "I was right..that poor intern." She went on to also say that she even reluctantly had to take down the Richard Nixon blacklight poster from her bedroom wall,"We all loved him in Paris but Watergate kind of messed that up...I was uncomfortably reminded of this when Nixon died, the great American flag at half-mast."

Witney may have had a pretty good voice (I'm also uncomfortable with her having children) but how could this Christian nation place an entertainer on a par with our service men that kill for us around the world?

At least Chris vetoed that Gay bill.  Don't get me wrong, I have a gay neighbor -- I just don't want him to marry that Queen that he lives with.
