Traveling though India during the Presidential election enabled me to experience firsthand, just how much people in other parts of the world are concerned about the political climate in the U.S.

Though not surprising, all Indians I met except for one, were hopeful that Barack Obama would win the election. When I reported to my 63-year-old Rajasthani dear friend, Singhji, that in fact, Obama would become the next President of the United States, he actually jumped up and down with glee.

And no moment in India was more heartwarming than this one captured at the ancient city of Fatehpur Sikri, just two days after the results were known. I asked this group of school children if they knew who the new President of the United States was going to be, and they all enthusiastically pumped their fists in the air and shouted in unison, "Barack Obama!"
