Screaming by naughty architect
The institutional Catholic Church speaking out with so much
moral outrage and righteous fear and democratic concern about the issue of
government sanctioned birth control is pathetic. Young boys were raped and sodomized for
decades, if not centuries, by Catholic clergy -- where is the fear and demand for justice and
outrage and righteous indignation and bluster from the pulpit about this heinous
Church empowered evil.
As a Catholic I sat for years and suffered through homilies
on the evils of birth control and abortion delivered by specially chosen American,
Irish, and African priests. I watched as
women that I knew who had had abortions visibly suffer through these disgusting
tirades, having to endure psychic assault. I witnessed the churches war on abortion and women draw violent and
unstable people into the parish. I lived
through the Church participating in the destruction of my family. I suffered through the Church annulling my
marriage based on lies and innuendo of mentally unstable individuals -- my daughter
is now a bastard? I saw first-hand the complicated
and unhealthy sexual dilemma of good spiritual men who had chosen the
priesthood as a career. I also saw, what
I didn't realize at the time, the "retirement"
of a priest who may have been a pedophile.
Catholics are good people -- the Institutional Catholic
Church is and always has been morally ambiguous.
Watching the media circus over this issue and the deplorable
response of Bishops, Santorum, Gingrich, and the Right in General; it's time
the Catholic Church gets a response commensurate with its social footprint.
The horrifying and sobering aspect of this subject is the
possibility of this propelling Santorum or Romney into the Whitehouse. Liberals, Democrats, Radicals, Progressives,
and Independents should unite behind President Obama (like him or not) because
the alternative is unacceptable.
How about an Occupy The Vatican Movement? Or instead of protestors walking around with
the horrific photos of aborted babies on placards how about photos of bloodied
rectums or the graphic representation of ruined lives? It's time to fight back in a meaningful way.
