I picked up this old Koran at an auction last week and there's not a word of English in it. I think these are the title pages. I'd love to get an idea what it's about. updated Monday Feb 26 8:58 AM EST The first two commenters have already shown the differences in the way the Islamic world sees things differently and how easily a westerner can, through ignorance cause offense.

So, if you can read arabic, and I know we have many readers from countries where Arabic is the native language, maybe you can help. Please post your comment below. I can add more pictures of this page and more inside pages if needed. I've never seen a book like this, with gold foil on almost every page.


I'm particularly interested in the date it was published, where it was published... anything about its provenance.
