I read today that the United States is planning on working with the various groups in Iraq to establish cease-fires. Now I have a better understanding of the troop surge. It didn’t make much sense without knowing what we had in mind.
We, seemingly, will send the troops door to door to establish cease-fires. There are a lot of doors in Iraq. We, evidently, didn’t have sufficient troops to cover the area.
I will admit that this is a better program than previous ones. I felt like we were sending troops, sans body armor, with bulls-eyes sewn on their uniforms. Recently a soldier even complained about a lack of food. Somehow I just don’t think this administration really knows how to conduct a war.
Our DECIDER, and VICE DECIDER, have never been tested in battle. They have never seen their friends, limited though they may be, blown to bits in front of them. They don’t know what sacrifice entails.
Our troops deserve our support. They deserve body armor. They damn sure should be fed properly. To enlarge their number, or to hold tours over, is an injustice to the troops.
Supporting the troops would be to bring them home for Mom’s turkey at Thanksgiving. To support the troops would be to admit we have allowed this administration to pillage the treasury, and support cronyism, at the cost of young Americans. To support the troops would be to give them true leadership, not just “yes men” fearful of their rank if they disagree with the DECIDER.
Throughout this so-called war there has been only ONE constant performed by the Administration. They have faithfully seen that Halliburton’s billings were promptly paid. Sometimes even as the accounts were being called fraudulent by the GAO. I wish I was a friend of the DECIDER and VICE DECIDER. I know how to prepare invoices, why not me? I could not provide services and bill for them with the best of them. This, my friends, is why I say the Administration is the biggest enemy of our troops!!
