Rep. Peter DeFazio is a member of the Homeland Security Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. As such, according to an article in The Oregonian, he is permitted to examine classified material. So, in response to concerns expressed by his constituents, DeFazio requested to review the classified portion of a White House plan for operating the government after a terrorist attack. The response from the White House: DENIED I'm no conspiracy theorist, but I have to wonder what they're hiding. And I hope DeFazio, and the whole Committee, will continue to pursue this. This degree of White House secrecy is not compatible with true democracy. -----
