In their first act since taking over St. Louis based Anheuser-Busch, InBev who bought Bud, announced the world famous Clydesdale draft horses have been retired.
The Belgian company said the Clydes are too American and although Lipizzaners are really classy, they opted to replace the Clydesdales with Belgian draft horses to more represent the company.
Busch employees are more skeptical than ever about statements made by other InBev spokesmen who assured them that the dozen Busch breweries will remain open, all jobs are secure and the Bud recipe will remain the same.
“If they can fire the Clydesdales,” said one unhappy employee, “imagine what they do to us.’
“They’re no bud to us. We vote ‘NAY“ on this whole deal,” said Clyde Bighoof, chief spokeshorse for Busch‘s venerated symbols.
