A story that appears on the fantastic news site Raw Story quotes Michelle Obama as saying this about the "failure" of black people so far to support Barack Obama for being black:
"First of all, I think that that's not going to hold...I'm completely confident."
"Black Americans will wake up and get it...But what we're dealing with in the black community is just the natural fear of possibility. When I look at my life, the stuff that we're seeing in these polls is played out my whole life: always been told by somebody that I'm not ready, you know, I can't do something, my scores weren't high enough...There's always that doubt in the back of the minds of people of color. People who've been oppressed and haven't been given real opportunities that you never really -- that you believe that somehow someone is better than you...Deep down inside you doubt whether you can do it, because that's all you've been told is 'no, wait.' That's all you hear."
In a roundabout way, Michelle Obama just gave pretty racist diatribe there herself but anyways, allow me to make two points here.
1) Your husband and his supporters have made the point time and time again that he is running for the President of the United States of America and not the President of the United States of Black People. If he was running to head some African-American group, than he could specifically look at key issues that affect African-Americans and do what was necessary to take care of them.
Barack is all about bringing all sides of America together. How? Who knows.
2) Let's say he is really planning on going out of his way to help "black Americans" as you put it, Michelle. Your husband has a poor poor poor track record of giving a rip about this group people. And to prove it, check this out.
Here's something I wrote a long time ago on Barack Obama's treatment of African American issues.
Well, Michelle, since you've degraded the entire African-American population here in America by singling them out as maybe being ignorant and stupid, I wish you the best of luck. For your sake...not mine...
But really, if you want to vote for someone who really cares about black people, this is your guy "black America."
