Big spending Republicans? What’s wrong with that statement? Oh, I know, it is big spending Democrats---big spending LIBERAL Democrats. Stop here please, come along with me and reread the first 3 sentences. ------------------------------------------Remember, “its the economy stupid”? It is the power of words stupid. Liberals have let the Republicans make us look so bad, that any candidate using the “L” word is dead before he or she gets in the race. I say #**###** them and lets take it back. Big spending; my god how could anybody use that term better than Bush, who has taken Clinton’s surplus and run it to a 10 Trillion deficit, that is 12 000000000000 I think. Bush has taken spending to a new level------10 billion a month on Iraq, 700 billion to Wall Street and still counting, Halliburton, KBR, Blackwater, just a few of the vultures feeding on our tax dollars. But, Democrats are still defending the title of “big spenders”.
How about us big spending liberals start saying, “yes we will spend money on health care, education, infrastructure, and new energy technology and while we are spending, we will be creating jobs that produce tax revenues.” Instead of cutting taxes for people that already have more than enough, how about getting more people paying taxes because they are making more money. I don’t know of many people that would not be happy to make another 10K a year and pay part of that in tax. Us big spending liberals will reach out for those those have fallen through the safety net and raise them up. Us liberals will not be happy with people living on the street, rooting through trash cans for food, sitting for hours in emergency rooms because they have no health care, and people unable to care for children through no fault of their own. McCain says “stand up, stand up”, and I say “stand up and offer a hand to your neighbor”. “They” have taken our country and now we must take it back. They have done a lot of this with chutzpa and language. Conservative has been used to describe the best of everything---God, motherhood, flag, and lets not forget, Delay, Stevens, Enron, Cheney, and Wolfowitz. All can use the word “conservative” to describe themselves. Just ask yourself this one question; “what sort of world do you wish to live in”? For me, it is a world where we try hard not to leave anyone out, one where there are fewer billionaires and more people getting a better share. Lets face it folks, we have seen the very worse of the so called free enterprise system, where billions are being spent, sucked up by the few, at the cost of thousands of death and disability by our youth. Bill Gates is an example of how the real free enterprise system works. He has been the richest man in the world and he is giving most of it back. Warren Buffet has done the same. As Buffet said of Bush’s tax cuts----“they saved me millions but not a dime for my secretary.”
There are people that will vote for Barr, Nader, McKinney, and others but there are only two that can win, so the decision is clear------at least for me, just an old liberal and damn proud to say it.
