If you choose to hire illegals, then you should be forced to sponsor those in your employ for a green card and pay a fine.

Big Ag claims that they need slave labor for their plantations. Because they need slave labor for their plantations, the state is asked to pay for their slave's healthcare, and Big Ag is given a pass on labor laws.

Giving Big Ag a pass on labor laws does impact the community at large. I have personally experienced the following in the state of Washington. While waiting in line to get a driver's license transferred from another state to Washington, I had to come back three times and wait in line every time to get the license. A man with a group of undocumented workers came in and had driver's licenses for them all on the same day, simply because they were not required to have documentation. While working in the schools counseling poverty stricken children in Washington, I attempted to get services for a Native American child. He had to present several documents and even at that it took a month or so. On the other hand an undocumented worker child received services after one phone call. Next an employer of an illegal alien fully expects this employee to gain
I.D illegally. In other words a citizen will have his/her identity
stolen so that Big Ag can employ someone who is not here legally. Health care for the illegally employed individual is paid for by the state--not the employer.

With the unemployment rate at nearly 20 percent in some states, this state is struggling to employ the people already here while dealing with individuals coming from other states AND illegal immigration. Many liberals or progressives will say that Americans won't do certain jobs. This simply is not true. Americans will not do work for pay that does not meet the minimum wage. People of this state do all sorts of undesirable work. My husband does back breaking work for sometimes 12-16 hours at a time, and he is a citizen.

My take on Big land and their issues is this. My family came from the South and they had plantations. The plantation was too big for them to farm on their own. To maximize profits they employed slaves. The problem is that they own too much land for THEM to handle. Break the land down and allow others to have family farms.

When illegals get caught they are usually punished while the employer gets a pass. Every individual needs to be checked when asking for employment. If you choose to bring illegals in this country, you should be willing to pay to sponsor these individuals so that they can have a green card. They should then be paid minimum wage at least. If an employer is caught, the employer should be forced to sponsor the individuals in his/her employment AND pay a fine.

I enjoy writing about political/ economic events, and I am especially concerned about the US as a warlike nation. I would like to see this nation turn itself around from a conquering nation in both commerce and war to a nation of peace. I hope that (more...)
