The problems Americans face are all bound together by one common thread, Money, who has it, who doesn't and why. We are being led to believe that the solution is also money and in accepting this we transfer more of ours into their pockets. The Solution is NOT how we spend our money but how we spend our time and energy.

::::::::

I received a well-meaning email this morning, which began

"Republicans are banking on your complacency...literally.

They've lined their pockets with corporate special interest cash. They've called in their Karl Rove-inspired shadow groups. And they're already spending millions to spread vile and despicable attack ads against Democrats far and wide."

It further went on to request donations to counter the campaigns to trounce Democrats. Of course it's not really the democrats the "right wing" fears but the progressives whom they don't mention. Oh, BTW Democrats and Progressives are not the same breed and neither are Republicans and the ultra right wing Neo cons who have taken over that grand old party of Abraham Lincoln. They pose as republicans in order to dupe Republican voters into believing the enemy is the "Evil Left wing Liberals" while they dismantle the Republic. As for counting on our complacency, I am anything other than complacent, but if the determining factor for survival of Democracy in America is Money then the "Republicans" have already won and we can kiss America goodbye. When did Money become the deciding factor? It undoubtedly began before the 80s but when we ousted Carter for Reagan based on the spin from Karl Rove's teacher, Lee Atwater, the die was cast. As for lining their pockets with corporate cash where did the corporate cash come from? It was picked out of the pockets of the American people. All this because of Reaganomics, which tore down the barriers, the protection, set in place by the Democratic party by years of hard work, planning and passage of successful legislation.

Political adds generate huge amounts of money every penny of which winds up in corporate coffers. Just who is it that "owns" the media (we-the-people's air waves) that all of the political adds are broadcast on? The way the system works is ALL of the money from the Democrats as well as the Republicans goes to the Right Wing corporate owners of America. That's right folks like it or not, we have been bought and paid for with our own money and are now the property of the 1% who control America, it's Airwaves and our future as indentured servants. Trying to buy our way out of servitude by paying for left wing adds just digs a deeper hole. If the gray matter of the average American has deteriorated to the point of Jello waiting to be labeled as Orange or Strawberry depending on which Advertisements are viewed the most often then perhaps the New World Order people are right. Maybe we aren't really fit or capable of determining our own outcome and need someone to manage our silly little lives.

If America is to have a future other than the one that is now set before us money is not the answer and attempting to buy a different one with political adds is the epitome of complacency and a farce. If we are to shed our complacency and the mantle of what amounts to slavery then we need to take a lesson from the past, from the 60's, the Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam war. We need to spend our time and our energy in taking to the streets en masse. Freedom has never been free and we have reached to point that we expect to sit back and let someone else do the work. Well they have and they now own us. Obama said, "Make me do it." I find his challenge not only ludicrous but also bordering on a huge FU to the American people, and why not? He knows full well that it was NOT the voters who put him in office but Wall Street, the Banksters and the Corprastocracy. If we can then ask ourselves, "when in our work history no matter how short or long or in what segment of American Business did we or anyone we know state to their employer 'Make Me Do It?'" If you do know of such an incident I have $100 to wager against the proverbial hole in a doughnut as to the outcome. The speaker found him or herself in the unemployment line. Ok so FDR got away with it and there have been numerous comparisons made between Mr. Roosevelt and Mr. Obama but I can find no other legitimate simile. Obama has more in common with the folks who approached General Smedley in an attempt to overthrow FDR and the American Government. If you aren't familiar with that incident I guess that's just one more bit of American History they failed to teach us. Maybe it would be of interest to do a google search of General Smedley. If you are familiar with the incident then you are probably also aware of everything else I might mention here. Maybe, just maybe, if our numbers grow to a reasonable size and if we can manage to gnaw a pinhole through the craniums of the right wing masses (an entirely different breed from the so called right wing elite that have taken over our Nation), we can let in a tiny ray of light and hope it reaches their optic nerves and opens their eyes.

After 60 years I still retain enough naivete- to believe world peace is possible but being a realist have to face the fact that I won't be around to see it. In my youth some well meaning folks tried to teach me to respect my elders but my (more...)
