Cyclone Sidr has devastated Bangladesh. Reports suggest that about 3,000 people have been killed and many are still missing, final toll could be as high as 10,000.
Those most affected by this cyclone are one of poorest people in the world. They have lost their home, live stock, and are facing starvation. There are also fears of outbreak of cholera due to the lack of proper sanitation and clean drinking water.
Logistics is still a nightmare, flooding has made it difficult to send help to many remote areas hit hardest by the cyclone. Bangladesh army, Red Crescent volunteers and many international agencies are working over night but it is not enough.
Survivors need help and you can make a difference.
Following agencies are involved in the relief effort. If you would like to send clothes, make sure you understand the local culture and climate before you send the items. Better to talk to the agency before hand.
