In what is perhaps one of the most stupefying examples of political hypocrisy and chutzpah, the serially incompetent Donald Rumsfeld, infamously photographed in 1983, shaking hands with Saddam Hussein ala Neville Chanberlain and Adolph Hitler in 1938, has dismissed critics of the bungled, mismanaged, Iraqi War of choice, as "Nazi Era Appeasers."Here is a short history lesson. Reeling from the Republican gift of the Great Depression, Franklin Roosevelt led the nation and a world-wide coalition to defeat the greatest war machines, Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, that the world had ever seen. This feat was accomplished in less time than it has taken for the present administation to NOT capture or kill Osama Bin Laden.
When Osama was trapped at Tora Bora in 2001, the Bush administration outsourced the job to local warlords who let Bin Laden slip away. Bush, Rumsfeld and company, in their signature ham-fisted mix of arrogance and incompetence proceeded over a period of 6 years to squander the greatest pool of world sympathy ever amassed and are losing a marketing campaign for the hearts and minds of world opinion to mass murdering, religious zealots, who live in caves.
Unable to find a 6 foot 6 inch, 140 pound foreigner, in Afghanistan, the administration choose instead to sow "Seeds of Democracy," in Iraq. These "seeds," germinated in the elitist, extremist, right-wing think tanks of Washington, DC. were pollinated by puffy faced, soft handed farmers of fubar like Karl Rove, Grover Norquist, Bill Kristol, Richard Pearl, Paul Wolferitz, and others like five time draft dodger Dick Cheney. This Neo-Con victory garden has produced the tangled patch of failure and death that has become the hallmark and legacy of this crowd.
Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush, and all their enablers and apologists, can and will continue to deny what is obvious to all but the oblivious. But from their record they can run, but not hide. They are, "Bin Laden Era Incompetents."
