Bankruptcy : As far as I know, after this humiliating chain of events you cant get credit for seven years, people look at you like you are a second class citizen, wait LOWER class citizen, I don't think we have a second class citizens anymore, and you are deemed a roach to anyone who does loans. It is a sort of death sentence to the working class folks.

I am totally confused! Most of my family has gone through a Bankruptcy . . . or three, I have not.  As far as I know, after this humiliating chain of events you cant get credit for seven years, people look at you like you are a second class citizen, wait LOWER class citizen, I don’t think we have a second class citizens anymore, and you are deemed a roach to anyone who does loans. It is a sort of death sentence to the working class folks. That physically, mentally and financially effect their lives forever, or at least 7+ years. Bankruptcy's should really be the same for all, the pros and cons of this "way out" or "bailout" craze seem that it is being redefined by Corporate America.

Isnt a bankruptcy supposed to be something helps a person in the future or just a quick fix that allows person or business to become stagnant about the way they handle their finical and business affairs. Seems like my quick fix theory might be more on target.  In my experience, the odds are that if a person has a bankruptcy they might just turn around and do it again, the minute it is looking like they can't pay there bills.

If these big businesses are allowed to smooth talk our government any time they mess up and receive a  “Don’t pay your bills, get out of debt free plan.” I wont wonder when Corporate America starts printing out stacks of these freedom cards. Then they can throw down this card anytime they are feeling insecure. I don't imagine that all the small town, down town, mom and pop businesses that have folded in the past 20 years, had the same choices while facing bankruptcy, that the big companies that forced them into closing their doors had. If the media is going to report these types of "comedies of errors" in Americas big businesses, the least they could do is put them in the right section of the newspapers: the SUNDAY FUNNIES.

Here is the latest:

Headline: Initial hearing held in Tribune bankruptcy.

Who needs to hear anything, I sure don’t. It would seem to me that bankruptcy is the new “ plea of insanity”. When ever a big business gets into trouble now, they just put up a front of “ Business as usual “ then file for bankruptcy the next day. They say "we don't know what happened, we lost our cents-es and a few billion dollars as well."  Yet their workers sit and wait to see if they will have a job on Monday morning, who needs the bailout? I would say the American workers.

Maybe big business (Corporate offices) should all move to one state so we can watch them and every move they make. Maybe somewhere like Nevada.  If you go to Las Vegas you can be cleared of almost anything, . . . .quickly. speeding tickets, divorce, bad debt, DUI’s, prostitution, (that will be a big sales point for politicians). But the only thing that Nevada wont let you do is get away with Robbery. OJ tried that and they did not take kindly to it. Las Vegas feels very strongly about people being robbed of there money, they leave that to the casinos.

It doesn't seem to be fair and again I might not have a great grasp on the bankruptcy thing. But, why don’t the little people of American get the same deal as the big boys do. They get all of congress and the senate working in to the wee hours to help bail them out.  Then they hand them money to try it all again. They set them up with a personal Car Czar, pat them on the back and never follow up to see where our money went.  Now if you say, “well the big boys (car, homes, banks,) can take the money we give them (14 billion) and get it back to us with interest. . . sometime?” Then you might be one of the only people these slick business moguls are hoping show up at their hearings. You also might be the same people that show up 4 months later when they ask for billions more, because they think they might be on a roll. But they will need more money for this next bit of momentum. It is all a gamble, the only thing is that it might be time to start gambling on the smaller business folks; the farmers, the construction workers, the hard working Americans, that work day and night to keep these big boys in nice clean suits, and Lawyers to save their . . . Assets. Every man is created equal and so are their problems and solutions, don't ya think?

I read this on Wikipedia: "In ancient Greece, bankruptcy did not exist. If a father owed (since only locally born adult males could be citizens, it was fathers who were legal owners of property) and he could not pay, his entire family of wife, children and servants were forced into "debt slavery", until the creditor recouped losses via their physical labour." What happened to the old days!  My plan: Put them on the line, like most of us live.  Then the 1$ a year paycheck they say they will take, would really mean a lot more to us Americans. Otherwise it is talk and right now, more than ever, TALK IS CHEAP, and ACTION, is well . . . PRICELESS!
