Check out this new essay at the Philadelphia Daily News, of all places.

I was shocked today to read this article featured at the Philadelphia Daily News, which is an institution with a long history of Mumia bashing -- usually supported by not acknowledging facts of the frameup, or giving supporters of a new trial and space to present their opinion.

But, low and behold, today The Philadelphia Daily News published an excellent article by Milton McGriff, a local journalist who reported on this case for the Philadelphia Tribune from 1998-2000. He wrote his master's thesis at Iowa State about the case, and knew Abu-Jamal in 1969, when he was a member of the Black Panther Party.
