US, UK to Review Pak Aid( Arab News)
" The United States and Britain yesterday said they will review their financial aid to Pakistan as over 600 political activists were arrested in a nationwide crackdown after President Gen. Pervez Musharraf declared a state of emergency on Saturday.
Washington has provided Islamabad, a major ally in its battle against Al-Qaeda in Pakistan and neighboring Afghanistan, with around $10 billion over the last five years. It has condemned the imposition of emergency rule." More:

"Islamabad: Pakistani police have detained at least 700 supporters of a main Islamist opposition party amid a crackdown following the imposition of emergency rule by military ruler President Pervez Musharraf, a party official said on Monday.
"Around 600 to 700 of our supporters have been rounded up in Punjab and Sindh province overnight," Liaquat Baluch, deputy leader of Jamaat-e-Islami told Reuters, referring to Pakistan's central and southern provinces." More
