What Obama should have said in South Dakota.

::::::::

Dear President Bush,

It was not a pleasure to hear your usual rants about Hitler, although the people of the US already know that Der Fuhrer is one of your favourite figures. It runs in the family, I suppose. You just cannot help it. Especially you seem to like to mention him whenever you meet Jews.

It is not really polite to mention the murderer among the families of the victims, but you surely get advice from the Highest Authority. BTW, did He give you that advice in Jerusalem? Like , 'My Son, go and use that Hitler stuff right among the Jews, so that they do not forget..'?

Typically, you did not mention how Der Fuhrer was appeased and who appeased him.

You did not mention that when his army entered the demilitarized Zone in 1934, it was a group of wealthy families in France supported by Americans who made sure France did not retaliate.

You certainly did not mention that US actively supported the Laval government in France, which paralyzed ALL the Anti- German activities and also undermined French defense plans.

You did not mention that the US played a treacherous role in the event when Germany left the League of Nations.

You did not mention the activities of Harrimans, Joe Kennedy, Watson from IBM, the Ford family and your own family in the revival of German military industry and in organizing slave labor.

You did not mention that when Germany organized a series of political murders in 1930, the US did not care.

Moreover, you did not mention that in the 1930s the US ambassador in the USSR was an active Stalinist.

You did not mention that the US did not give a damn about occupation of Austria and Chechoslovakia and maintained good a relationship with the Vichy govt in France, even in 1941.

You did not mention that US-supported media in Europe had a slogan, (paraphrase, ed.) 'Direct Germany to the East and we in the West will be cool.'

You did not mention another slogan, 'The whole of Chechoslovakia is not worth even one French soldier.'

You did not mention the rampant racism on which the foreign policy of the US and other Western democracies was based. Even when it became clear that the USSR was initiating the pact with Germany the ' foreign policy gurus' did not consider it possible that 'Aryans will make a pact with Slavs'.

President Bush, people like you appeased Hitler. They wanted to use him, but he outsmarted them all. And if it were not for the blood of the Russian, British, French, Serb, Greek and American soldiers it would be him now (figuratively speaking; ed.) on that podium.

Thanks to people like you, Hitler's suicide took place not in 1934 but 11 years and 50 million dead later.

That's how it was. I hope your Highest Advisor will explain that to you next time you talk about appeasement.
