I resignedly admonish my teabagger congresscritter rather than inveighing upon him to grow a brain.

Congressperson:
I'm writing to express my disapproval of what will, no doubt, be your vote to extend the USA Patriot Act. It is, after all, the only option for a Tea Party authoritarian. If I had a sense that you were anywhere but the right wing extremist fringe, and completely buried in Mike Pence's back pocket, I might attempt to dissuade you from casting that anti-American vote.

Instead, rather than engage in a complete waste of time, let me simply point out that there is a great deal in common between the USA Patriot Act, and the thoroughly detested Emergency Law that pro-democracy Egyptian demonstrators have forced their government to lift. The main difference is that I don't think you're going to get thirty years to play dirty.
