German Bundeswehr Soldier put to better use, better than in Afghanistan.::::::::
Worried about catching my morning commuter train this past friday (the GDL Strike your local news is not reporting), I stood there in the kitchen sipping on my waker-upper black leaf tea while listening to the news on the radio. At 04:45 in the morning, the only news channel you can get over here is MDR as in MITTELDEUTSCHEN RUNDFUNKS. This is a real propaganda central but I can't help but listen to the crapola they air each morning. Hell, I don't know why. It may be the short audio clips of Angela's lisp syncs. Bla bla blonski....Yuck !
So every once in a while, MDR airs a worthy report or two. Friday's surprise was a report (I'm sure it was friday but don't plan on taking me to court if I've got it wrong 'cause my hearing comprehension at a quater to five a.m. isn't what it used to be) about "militant animal protectionists" breaking into a mink farm and setting thousands of minks free. The initial report had the figure at 75,000 but even I couldn't swallow that number. That was later corrected to read 7,500. What's a zero more or less when it comes to FREEDOM !? TV reports last night showed clips of happy minks running all over the place, German Army Soldiers scurrying after them. It was hilarious ! I thought to myself...there's no place like home and our soldiers never should have been sent to Afghanistan in the 1st place.
