The fact that Obama has yet to produce even a photocopy of his birth certificate, even after the case has gone to the Supreme Court, may indeed ultimately disqualify him for the job he was elected to.
No, neither the Dalai Lama nor Nelson Mandela would be eligible to lead this country. And, if Obama turns out to have lied about something as basic as where he was born, who but a charisma intoxicated fool would want him to be President, anyway?
But there is something more "cosmic" in this potential coincidence. Have we become so alienated from our essential nature, as a nation, that we allow candidates to run for an office for which they are disqualfied, in the most fundamental sense of the word, to hold? And when one of them wins, do we still remain in a state of denial simply because we find them so inspiring?
