Americans Coasting to Destruction

We hear complaints across the spectrum about what the problems in America are... from the government, politicians, the economy and jobs, to wars, criminals, and you name it. But where does the guilt actual rest? The sad answer is with every American alive in this country who allows it to continue.

Our founding fathers gave everything they had to bring this country into existence. They gave their wealth and often their lives because they believed in a bigger picture, and they were willing to pay the price in their day to assure freedom for themselves, and for us. Today, however, most Americans are coasting along on these previous efforts, and that of others today... coasting on freedoms, availability of obtaining wealth, assured civil rights, the rule of law, natural resource abundance... and doing so with little or NO payments toward any of these freedoms. In other words freeloaders expecting all these blessings for NOTHING.

Freedom is not free, and unless payments are made by many "someones," freedom, and all these blessings, WILL disappear from this country and in other places around the world.

"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it." Thomas Paine.

"Liberty means responsibility. That is why most men dread it." - George Bernard Shaw.

It was a minority of the population at the time of the revolution who were awake, alert enough and courageous enough to support this fight for freedom.  Our country was born in spite of the majority of complacent sleepers.  Today, we have the same condition.  Most Americans are asleep at the wheel when it comes to understanding the Constitution, the economy or the actual loss of freedoms we have experienced over the last 100 years. Our founding fathers would be ashamed of the state of the country and its people right now.

We are losing our country to special interest groups... fascists, socialists, corporate greed, corrupt government representatives, and financial enslavement, and we seem to delight in supporting politicians who have a proven record of being responsible for these affairs.  What is wrong with us?  Why have so many Americans abdicated their personal responsibility to know the Constitution and laws of the land and to fight for them?  Why do so many seem to be oblivious to the seriousness of our situation as a free republic?

Why is there such denial of the truth and facts, even to the point of voting for more enslavement by supporting candidates that are traitors to our Constitution and country?  Is it mass delusion?  Drugs in the water supply? Cowardice?  Fear?  Laziness?  Selfishness?  Ignorance is certainly a major issue, which is likely supported by all the above.  This means that we can only expect this country to fall like every other country in human history has for the same reasons.  Not from being conquered from without, but from being conquered from within, and a lack of moral and personal character of the people.

Samuel Adams stated it best: "If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace.  We ask not your counsel nor your arms.  Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you.  May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." Samuel Adams.

The problem before us is that when we have so many who are coasting on the efforts of our founding fathers and those today who are fighting for freedom and our Constitution, we get diluted to the "point of no return."  We are close to this point, and it is tragic that most of those who need to wake up and consider these things... and find some fortitude, courage and strength, won’t even be able to read this because of their near-comatose state of mind and lack of interest in the reality around them.

The slavery we are in now will not compare to that which is being prepared for us and our children.  Unless Americans wakes up immediately, re-educate themselves on the Constitution, and take back this country and our freedoms and rights, the whole world will be changed, and because of OUR sloth and irresponsibility as the true rulers of this contry, it is likely that our children, and many nations of the world, will curse us for generations to come.
