AMERICANS LOVE THEIR COUNTRY, BUT"
There is a limit to their patience with the status quo. Those who still feel that having an opinion matters are united in their frustration with the federal government's lack of action in responding to this prolonged recession. Their inability to agree and pass legislation which will actually stimulate this economy borders on the ridiculous. Before they are even fully into their fall session, the polarizing rhetoric has begun. Americans are sick and tired of the federal government's coddling of the wealthy and powerful, who buy all the power and influence they need from their congressmen. The logic which drives this deception is the premise that the wealthy create the jobs which are so desperately needed, so we had better not bite the hand that feeds us or they might take their money elsewhere. It is also reasoned that we need to reduce or eliminate their taxes so that they will have even more money to hire the unemployed and help our country to recover. The problem is that the wealthy and powerful are not using their increased wealth and tax-exempt status to help America at all, but are instead growing richer and more powerful at the expense of the rest of us. We need tax reform, and we need it now! Things are going to get mighty rough over the next few months unless Congress begins to earn their pay and get something done. This is the most do-nothing Congress in U.S. history, and it shows! If they don't get in gear and make some quick course-corrections, not only will they fail to win re-election, but there won't be a federal government for them to be elected to. The states existed long before the federal government was born and they can function just fine without it. The longer it takes the federal government to take meaningful action, the closer we get to dissolving it. And by the way--the next time you take a vacation that you haven't earned, you had better not come back!
