If it seems inevitable that the age of eligibility for Social Security is going to be raised, maybe we can negotiate to lower the age of eligibility for medicare.

::::::::

There's a lot of talk about raising the age of medicare. Maybe, if it's on the table, and has momentum, a win that could be carved out of the greater loss could be to lower medicare to age 50 and to also raise SCHIP to 26.

The writing is on the wall. Even when the millions went to the streets in France, the politicians went ahead and raised the eligibility age for retirement government pensions.

Here, where American sheep are far less willing to go to the streets, it is highly likely that the duopolist corporate parties will raise the age and Obama will go along.

If we fight hard for it, maybe we can reduce the age range that privatized health care covers while gradually increasing the age that single payer health care covers.
