A break from the news crunching to reflect on what I have to be thankful for.

::::::::

I am thankful for my faith in God and in the inherent goodness of this country.

I am thankful for Rob Kall, for running a progressive site that attempts to keep our government accountable, as well as for finding better titles for my articles.

I am thankful for term limits.

I am thankful for the incredible grass roots efforts by ordinary citizens who are refusing to just walk away in the face of another theft of democracy.

I am thankful for my red state-fellow citizens. Reasonable people can always disagree. I know that they share the same desire to know the truth.

I am thankful for the efforts of other progressive sites, such as whatreallyhappened, buzzflash, and the Center for American Progress. It is difficult enough to digest three hours of real news daily without having to actually go out and find each item individually.

I am thankful for airamerica, for providing truth on the airwaves.

I am thankful for Sean Hannity for reminding me daily how shrill, evil can be. Put the White House talking points down Sean, and try developing your own opinion.

I am thankful for Fox News for showing me the true agenda of the White House.

I am thankful for Rush Limbaugh for being so obviously hypocritical. I wish you well in your recovery from addiction, and am saddened that it has not improved your perspective.

I am truly thankful for Keith Olbermann, who reminds us what a journalist is supposed to do, report, not frame the news.

I am thankful for Chris Matthews for playing softball five times a week, reminding us what a journalist should not do, parrot what the administration wants america to hear.

I am thankful for Dick Cheney for reminding us what corporate cornyism really looks like.

I am thankful for Goerge W. Bush, for showing me how to NOT be a Christian. The Prince of Peace does not advocate war. He does not take glee in death.

I am thankful for John Ashcroft, for leaving.

I am thankful for Rod Paige, for leaving.

I am thankful for Mike Ruppert, for his continued efforts to simply expose the truth, and for his new book.

I am thankful for the hundreds of emails i have received. For those who agreed, it is always nice to hear supportive comments. For those who did not, i always tried to respond and find common ground. For those who want me to move out of the country, too bad.

I am thankful for my family, who never allow me to take myself too seriously.

I am thankful for my core support. For Mom, Aunt Mary, my brothers, my sister, Christina, Jess, Charlotte, Laurel, Aimee, Barbara, Mr. Hitchcock, Gary, Vicki - my Missouri Mule, Donna Reindeer, Maeve, and Mr. Burgess. If i omitted anyone, i truly apologize.

Today, i am thankful, tomorrow, we continue the cause for the truth that has become Votergate 2004. Thanks.
