With the announcement of the the troops being sent to Afghanistan we should consider the way those troops will be employed. I suggest that we deploy the troops in three ways.
First, part of our troops should be used to train Afghan police and troops to more effectively do their jobs.
Next we should develop projects to grow the Afghan infrastructure and economy. A part of our troop strength should be deployed as security with elements of Afghan police and army for these projects. Another portion of our forces would be on standby as a rapid response force to support these security forces when they come under attack.
Also, a portion of these forces could be deployed on search and destroy missions with the Afghan army to destroy these criminals who have no respect for life, Islam, democracy and the rule of law.
