Seven years of fighting a war in Afghanistan. It's news to me.
The headline in today’s Los Angeles Daily News from an AP story by Robert Burns: Bush reviewing strategy for 7-year war in Afghanistan.
http://www.dailynews.com/news/ci_10503103The story was about as clear and informative as Bush’s economic plan. After reading it, it was like “say what?”
Nowhere in the short article does it say if this was a review of an old strategy, or if it’s a new plan that he’s putting into place to help the next president.
Ha! Bush do something to facilitate the next administration. It would be easier to believe in the Easter bunny.
Help the next president, that is if there is a next president, and W. doesn’t use his infamous presidential directive giving himself the authority to use the tiniest of excuses to suspend the federal government; put the country under martial law; and cancel the November elections.
Since he signed that terrifying order, it’s been like the other shoe has been suspended in air, and we’ve been waiting for him to drop it at his whim.
Many have wondered if that was going to be his: Surprise! It’s October!
I wouldn’t be surprised if that surprise is on hold until November 5th if Barack Obama wins.
