The gift of inexpensive gasoline...

::::::::

Well happy holiday readers, it is important for “us” sheeple to give thanks to The Power That Be, (TPTB). In case you missed this little present,TPTB are giving us flock members the wonderful gift of cheap gasoline thisholiday season. Just look at the math. From last January until the middle oflast September, a barrel of crude averaged (roughly) $68 per barrel. Ugh. However, since the middle of September thru today, a barrel of crude has increased in price in this last period to average (again roughly) $85/ barrel,or a ~20% increase.

Here in SoCal, with our funny gasoline standards, I had been paying around $3.50/gallon for premium from the beginning of the year. And yet I just filled up for $3.35/gallon two days ago. Frankly, a 20% increase in the cost of crude should increase the price of gasoline from $3.50/gallon to around $4.20 / gallon, not $3.35/gallon.

As such, it seems to me that we owe TPTB a thanks for not passing along their cost increases and even cutting our costs. I figure in my household alone it is saving me roughly $150 per month. Imagine, TPTB being so nice to us,… right before the holiday shopping season. I wonder if this gift will keep being given until after the elections next year. After all, happy sheeple are contented and compliant sheeple.

I have to admit though, given their history, it is difficult for me to believe that the oil companies are being so nice to me…Something might be going on here, but, being as mere sheeple, the “real information” isn’t available to us mere members of the flock.

Never the less, have a happy holiday and appreciate their gift, as long as it is being given.
