A Day or Two in the Life of Opednews and Recent Podcasts

Yesterday, I spent an hour at a local Starbucks, with a local activist teaching him how to edit the queue. Then, I rushed home and spent an hour doing an hour phone interview with gutsy progressive Alan Grayson I sent out an email to our 40 editors asking for suggestions on what to talk about. I got eight responses and asked almost all the questions and discussed almost all the topics they raised (at least 20 between them.) On Tuesday, I interviewed the former Director of Policy Planning for the State Department of the USA.

This morning, I read an article advocating Nuclear power in India submitted in the queue by a student from India. That led me to write to the senior editors to propose OEN taking a stand opposing nuclear energy, which would mean rejecting the article. The responses are still coming in. Some say allow the article because it's well written. Some agree with me that we should reject an article that takes a stand most OEN writers are opposed to.

These are all in a days work at OEN. And I don't do it alone. On any day there are scores of people working in some way on OEN-- writing, editing, programming. It's a miracle we do it on one of the smallest budgets, based on readership and content published by just about any measure. But we still need your help to make it happen.
