I remember 911 eight years ago. I was living in Thailand at the time. When I woke up that morning and watched the TV I was not sure what was going on due to the language issue. When I arrived at work, some Thais came up to me with tears in their eyes and apologized for 911.I remember thinking back about how I had hoped that my people would keep a cool head. I remember thinking that I had hoped they would find who the perpetrator was first before doing anything stupid. I had hoped this would be a police issue handled through Interpol.
I went to lunch that day expressing my hope that my people would remain calm, a Canadian woman became unglued and began screaming about attacking those who perpetrated the crime.
Now looking back at the wars we are still in, the American dead over 4000, the Iraqi dead (who had nothing to do with the 911 incident) probably over a million (according to the Lancet study), we either completely lost our cool that day or whoever was in power wanted to use this as an excuse to go on a Middle Eastern slaughter fest.
There is no excuse for the thousands to hundreds of thousands dead in the Middle East. We should have used the police option in the first place.
