Just another note to self : you left Honeywell to start a job with a Company with a better reputation. Or at least that was your excuse for leaving the Co. In truth, you couldn't deal with the contradiction any longer. The yearly Easter March peace protests kinda clashed with the job with Honeywell. Yeah yeah, your position was in the commercial pillar, not the Space & Aviation pillar, so you really didn't have to leave the Co. just because they're one of the major defense contractors. You heard Princess Diana's plea for a stop of production of all anti-personell mines and you saw the kids with the stumps where arms and legs used to be. You saw the long, thin, flexible PCBs at work in that one Abteilung where all the pretty girls worked and you saw the finished product display on the wall on the way to the Cantine where you used to get your breakfast each morning. It was the right thing to do, leaving Honeywell. Never mind the fact that you're now working for some other branch of Big Brother. Most people are. Use your insider knowledge and tell people. Maybe that will help you sleep at night.
Tell them about this webpage you just finished looking into and ask them to look into all those neato contracts the big companies are being awarded. Tell them how, in your opinion, 9/11 served as a booster for the defense industry. Double Digit Growth!! Tell them! And hey, you, out in there in the cold....with your heart growing old, tell them to read Orwell again. Ask them to ask themselves if perhaps 9/11 could have been a sort of a booster to a modern 1984, with all the drones, robots, CCTVs et al. Ask them. Who knows? Maybe you'll get an answer. Maybe you'll get a good night's sleep for a change.
Signed,
myself
