It was made in 2002. So in times that go to second Iraq war of USA and Great Britain (PM: Tony Blair). In times that USA strikes Taliban and Al Qaida in Afghanistan.

All British people afraid of war in Iraq, Afghanistan which Britain soldiers joined.

Jimmy (Cillian Murphy) fight against zombies with 2 women in around Manchester. They refuge a few British soldiers who could escape from zombie.

Soldiers say to Jimmy they were in quarantine in Britain island. There were planes in USA skies and people who out of Britain living normally their daily life.

I remember the comments of British people against USA militaristic operations in Middle East and Afghanistan.

Director Boyle puts these comments into the movie with these soldier's dialogues.

Boyle puts the alienation between Britain people and soldiers with some acts which Brittany soldiers who try to rape two Brittany women.

Injection of angry and violence hormones to monkeys for an experiment evaluates itself enemies against Britain people.

Any help from abroad especially by USA? No. Jimmy and his 2 woman friends wave a military plane (USA plane?) but they can't survive in the end.

It is really very good zombie film. It was made despite little budget.
