Bush: The Greatest Liberal of the Century

by James Boyne

Bush is one of the most liberal Presidents we have ever had. Liberal with our tax dollars by giving tax breaks to the wealthiest 1% of American taxpayers. Liberal with big Government spending programs by endorsing a military budget of over $350 billion, when there is no more Soviet Union and no more cold war. Liberal with his "non existent" program and policies to solve the health care crisis. Liberal with his "let it be" attitude with regard to big corporation fraud and corruption. And now, like a liberal, he wants to start giving $15 billion of our tax dollars away to the continent of Africa, when here in America we have millions of unemployed, millions of homeless, millions upon million with any health coverage of any kind, and millions of children who cant get a descent education.

I call upon all true conservatives, and conservative Republicans to support Kucinich in the 2004 election.

He will reconstitute VA benefits for Veterans, especially the VA health care system which should be open to all veterans and their families. It has the potential to be an excellent health care system for a large part of our American system.

He will provide universal health care for all, and get the greedy, obstructionist, insurance corporations completely out of the health care system and give it back to doctors, patients and hospitals. It would eliminate hundreds of billions in waste, fraud, and greedy profits that are zapping our health care of its main mission----health care. The pharmaceutical industry needs to be reined in so it stops its price gouging and extortionist marketing practices that bribe doctors and hospitals and mislead patients about the efficacy of their products and drugs. Millions of Americans are at home suffering excruciating, tormenting, unbelievable physical pain from injuries and diseases for which they cannot obtain proper, affordable medication. These are the silent, suffering victims of our greedy insurance/pharmaceutical industry.

Its good the pharmaceutical industry doesn’t control our water supply or we'd all be paying $500 a month for water. Its good the insurance industry doesn’t sell transportation policies for the privilege of using our Interstate Highway System, or half of us would be deemed ineligible to use the roads without paying an exorbitant "travel premium" to get to drive to and from work or to take a nice drive to go on vacation.

Bush calls the health care/pharmaceutical/insurance industry a consumer driven, market based system. I call it a shambles. A disgrace. And a menace to the health of all Americans.

Bush will bring our great nation to its knees. He is the modern day Herbert Hoover and will usher in the Great New Depression.

I'm a conservative Republican, 55, a Vietnam veteran with a Bronze Star, proudly served, and out of work, with an MBA, and a degree in Financial Planning. My wife is an RN, totally disabled from an injury and not eligible for any state or Federal programs (not that we want any). We want health care and jobs. We can't afford health care insurance that costs $10,000 a year and then won't cover half the things we need covered, and that raise their rates every year by 20%, and that don’t cover pre-existing conditions or dozens of serious, common diseases and injuries.

I'm going to "get real" this election, as a conservative Republican, and vote for common sense in Government, and for an individual that will put some rationality back into our Federal policies. We live in the greatest country in the world. Surely we can do better than what we have now. I urge all conservative Republicans like me, that "smell something fishy in the White House" to vote for Dennis Kucinich.

James Boyne dboyne@aol.com is a political, satirical freelance writer. He is an MBA who has been downsized and is out of work and has a Certified Financial Planning degree even though he has had to declare bankruptcy to get relief from crushing, overwhelming medical bills when his wife became injured with a spinal injury. The last time he had private health insurance the premiums were $1000 a month and they wouldn’t cover any of his or his wife’s pre-existing conditions. He spends over $700 a month on prescription drugs which he is not sure really work. He also regularly sends to Canada for prescription drugs that can be purchased their for half price, which American drug companies are trying to desperately stop.
